5diese Aktionen gelungen waren, er unermüdlich auch
6weitere Dienste beständig erwiesen und festgehalten hat an
7seinem Wohlwollen für das Volk; und als der Krieg ausbracht,
8er sich als vortrefflicher Mann erwiesen - - - und in seinem Kampf
9alles willig getan hat, was der General anordnete; und
10er auch für die Zukunft ankündigt, Dienste zu erweisen
11dem Volk der Athener; – Damit nun ein Wettstreit sei
12unter allen, die bei dem Volk Auszeichnung finden wollen,
13in dem Wissen, dass sie geehrt werden von dem Volk,
14zu Glück und Heil!, wolle beschließen der Rat: dass die Vorsitzenden,
15die erlost sein werden zum Vorsitz im Volk für die
16kommende Volksversammlung, sobald die gesetzlich vorgeschriebenen
17Tage verstrichen sind, hierüber verhandeln lassen und die Beschlussvorlage
18des Rates in die Volksversammlung einbringen, wonach der Rat es
19für gut befindet, dass man belobige Strombichos und bekränze mit
20goldenem Kranz gemäß dem Gesetz wegen seines Wohlwollens und seines
21Ehrgeizes für das Volk; dass er auch Athener sein soll
22und seine Nachkommen, und er eingeschrieben werde in Phyle
23und Demos und Phratrie, die er will, gemäß dem
24Gesetz; dass die Prytanen über ihn abstimmen lassen
25in der nächsten Volksversammlung; dass die Thesmotheten
26für ihn die Prüfung des Privilegs einleiten, sobald
27sie die Gerichtshöfe aufgefüllt haben - - -

5concluded in favour of the city he has continued
6to provide unstintingly its remaining needs and has remained steadfast
7in his good will for the People, and when war came

9in every way according to what the general ordered and
10proclaims that for the rest of time he will render service
11to the Athenian People; so that there may be competition
12for all wanting to obtain benefits from the
13People in the knowledge that they will be honoured by the People,
14for good fortune, the Council shall decide: that the presiding committee
15who are allotted to preside in the People in the
16forthcoming Assembly, when the days set by the law
17have passed, shall put the matter on the agenda and submit the opinion
18of the Council to the People, that it seems good to the
19Council to praise Strombichos and crown him with a gold
20crown according to the law for his good will and love
21of honour for the People; and he shall be Athenian,
22and his descendants, and he shall enrol in the tribe
23and deme and phratry that he wishes according to the
24law; and the prytany shall put the vote about him
25at the next Assembly; and the court presidents
26shall bring the scrutiny for him of the award when
27they next fill the courts - - -
